[sum] Human-computer interaction
In this week, we talk about Human-computer interaction .
Human–computer interaction (HCI) is the study of interaction between people (users) and computers. It is often regarded as the intersection of computer science, aesthetics , teleology , design and several other fields of study. Interaction between users and computers occurs at the user interface (or simply interface), which includes both software and hardware, for example, general-purpose computer peripherals and large-scale mechanical systems, such as aircraft and power plants.
HCI used at various fields.
First, There are people using HCI as tools. For example Vannevar bush made memex.
Second, There are people using HCI as systems. For example Macintosh powerbook was made in 1991.
Third, There are people using HCI as funding. For example Military: Navy, Air Force, ARPA, DARPA. Another simple example is using webcam.
Eliza is answer machine with human. But It doesn't answer everything. It does (or does not) behave like a human and is therefore successful (or not successful)
Johnstone’s “algorithm” is that. It just answered simple word "yes" or "no" by last consonant of question. It doesn't know everything. And or it need not know everything.
Ethnomethodology (literally, 'the study of a people's (folk) methods') is a sociological discipline which examines the ways in which people make sense of their world, display this understanding to others, and produce the mutually shared social order in which they live. The term was initially coined by Harold Garfinkel in the 1960s.
HCI have shown by many film. For example there are X-men, matrix, alien4 and so on.
My first think of HCI is that it is very intersting thing. I could see them in the SF movie. For example body odor can open the door in the "alien4". Its very wonderful technique. In the future the tech will be real. I want to use it.
